Where children are at the heart of everything we do.

At Hillside First School, our vision is to provide a nurturing environment, in which children from all backgrounds feel included and safe, are able to take part in an enriching learning experience, and where parents and carers can feel confident about sending their children. At the heart of our teaching and leadership is a focus on the ‘whole’ child, their emotional literacy and providing them with the best opportunity to achieve their full potential using a ‘growth mindset’. This can lead to the children really pushing and challenging themselves with their learning and developing their independence. Children also need the opportunity to flourish within and beyond the classroom. It is our aim and that of the Academy Committee to help and inspire each child to become happy, successful, respectful learners and well-rounded individuals who are ready to make the next steps in their journey.
